Charity walk up Snowden for Ark Cancer Centre

Part of our commitment to our patients is to detect early signs and symptoms of oral and facial cancer and making our patients aware of the lifestyle links which can attribute to the disease or in fact actions they can take to prevent the likeliness of such occurrence.

Dr Neel Tank, owner and principal dentist says "each year our initiative is to fundraise for a deserving cause which will benefit our local community, involve friends and family and invite patients to join us as a team to hopefully help make a difference for not only those fighting cancer but to add our support to the families involved. Some of our members have been directly affected by the loss of loved ones and understand the need for this facility."

13 members of our team aimed to increase awareness of The Ark Cancer Centre charity by walking up Mount Snowdon on the 20th May 2017. We chose The Good Exchange as a platform for raising funds, our target was to raise £3000 in total we raised a staggering £9200.

The Team members who took part were: Neel Tank, Laura Tank, Norma Watson, Jane Gardner, Adele Marietti, Rikesh Patel, Kashif Hafeez, Kim Willis, Rebecca Cruddace, Elizabeth Thomas, Elenica Orolloga Rebecca Canning & Suzan Al-Ali

Imogen Dental abseil 100ft for charity

14 team members of the dental practices in Benson (Oxfordshire) and Kingsclere (Berkshire) joined forces to raise money for the John Radcliffe Hospital's Fund for Children charity. On Sunday 21st September 2014 the dental team assembled with great enthusiasm to abseil 100ft from the top of the Women's centre to show support and recognition of the dedication and care provided by the hospital.

The Fund for Children provides the very latest medical equipment and best possible facilities, for babies and toddlers through to teens for all the departments within the Oxford Children's Hospital and across Children's Services within the Trust. Whether they are being treated in the Children's Hospital, the Neonatal areas, the Children's Ward at the Horton General Hospital or other specialist children's areas across the Trust, the Fund for Children is there to make young patients' experience the best it can be.

As the owner and director of Imogen Dental, Dr. Neel Tank and his team chose the charity to express appreciation and acknowledgement of the exceptional services provided by the hospital and its staff.

For many within Imogen Dental, this charity is held close to their hearts as personal experience with the Children's hospital has fuelled their drive to raise funds and support.

"We have been planning this event all summer and the entire team have been very excited with this opportunity. I am extremely proud of everyone who took part, the atmosphere was one of great excitement, tinged with nervous anticipation, which, on completion turned into a huge sense of achievement."

Every member completed their task and enjoyed the presence of family members, friends and patients who were in attendance to give much appreciated encouragement, all adding to an enjoyable experience whilst contributing to a well deserving cause.

The team would like to express their appreciation to all who kindly made donations to this worthy cause either via Justgiving.com or directly to the two dental practices.

We are very pleased that the target of £1,500 was exceeded on the day of abseiling and the raised an astonishing £2,600 for the charity. The teams effort was also personally commended by John Howell OBE MP, member of Parliament for Henley.

Earlier fund-raising efforts this year have seen Imogen Dental's hygienist, Lesley Sparrow, visiting India and successfully completing voluntary work helping under-privileged children understand oral hygiene and diet. Whereas Neel and his wife Laura completed a 15,000ft charity tandem skydive in Nevada, USA, and are planning to take on more boundary breaking challenges for charity next year.

Meanwhile, both Neel and Laura wish to thank their team for taking part in this amazing Abseil charity event, namely: Dr Kashif Hafeez, Dr Rikesh Patel, Dr Elena Orolloga, Dr Rebecca Cruddace, Jane Gardner, Jane Smale, Kim Willis, Adele Marietti, Becki DeMichelis, Rachel Morgan, Sheila Clarke and Kim Broom-Edwards.

Charity walk up Snowden for Ark Cancer Centre

Imogen Dental took to the water to raise a further £2,800 for The Ark Cancer Centre Charity by building a raft to navigate an 8 mile stretch of the Kennet and Avon canal. Our determination to finish the course earned us the Marcus Franks "Spirit of the Craft" award.

Another rewarding challenge!
